The distinction
Most tools that observe work behaviour collect everything first and restrict access second. Vantic IQ is built the other way: content inside applications is not on the ingestion path. The boundary is structural, enforced at the point of capture, not downstream. This is what “privacy by architecture” means. It is not a mode. It is not a setting. Disabling it is not possible without rebuilding the system from scratch. What the architecture guarantees
- No screen capture path for workflow diagnosis
- No keystroke logging
- No file-body ingestion
- Pattern detection runs on your device — raw workflow signals do not leave your Mac
Window titles and hashing
Window titles sit at the edge of the content boundary — not raw content, but capable of carrying incidental meaning. Vantic handles this by hashing window titles at the point of capture using SHA-256. The original value is discarded immediately. What is retained is the hash — usable only for detecting repetition and continuity, not for reading what the title said.Context Hints
You may provide short plain-language Context Hints (role, priorities, pain points). These help the conversational interface frame answers more precisely to your situation. Context Hints are conversational context only. They do not feed the Pattern Engine and do not affect how your Friction Score is calculated. An insight that would require treating hints as observed signal data is not surfaced. See Add context hints.Chat and the AI layer
To answer questions in the conversational interface, Vantic IQ sends structured, derived pattern context and your prompts to a third-party AI provider. Raw workflow signals are not sent. Screenshots, document contents, and file data are not transmitted. Customer data is not used to train those models. Core workflow-signal storage is in Australia (AWS ap-southeast-2). AI processing may use servers outside Australia with Australian Privacy Principles-aligned safeguards. See the Privacy Policy for the binding description.Retention
Raw workflow signal events are retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted. Derived Friction Score patterns persist while your account is active. Full deletion controls are available in the Privacy Hub.Privacy Hub
